Do you remember that one time Reggie Miller scored 8 points in 9 seconds? It was a great moment in my childhood. I remember the surge of excitement and Adrenaline that ran through my veins as I saw Reggie steal the ball right after making a three point shot. The New York Knicks were in shock by the amount of points scored in such little time. Memories like that make me proud to be hoosier, and make me want to support the midwest.
Since I just told you the story of Reggie Miller and how much I support the midwest, you are probably thinking that the reason I chose to review the new 7 inch by OF is because the band is from Indiana. I forget what else I was going to write in this paragraph because I got called on Skype, but I really liked where the first sentence was going so I decided to keep it.
By listening to their tunes, by them being a two-piece, and seeing their outfits, it is obvious that their main influence is The White Stripes. The song “Yours” sounds quite a bit like “7 Nation Army”, and “Who would want to leave?” sounds just like “Icky Thump” by The White Stripes.
The main thing that makes this album awesome is the recording of the first 5 songs. The guy obviously knew exactly what he was doing. You can tell that he spent hours mixing the songs, and had tons of equipment. The reason I assume it is a man is because we all know a girl could not have done as good of a job. Thank god for males.
Indie Boner Rating: Hard On
